GULANG-GULANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
A decade later, the Gulang-Gulang National High School - Alumni Association was formed with the help of the current school principal and its alumni. The association form of a committee and register its members to carry out the by-laws. This was followed by meetings for the implementation of the projects and one of these is Grand Alumni Homecoming held on December 15, 2019 which was attended by school graduates from 2009 to 2019, former teachers, and important personalities who helped establish the school. Motorcade, mass, alumni association discussions, parties, games and parties were held. This occasion was successfully and peacefully celebrated.

Article I
LOGO
TWO BIG LETTER A
The two big letters “A” is an abbreviation for the Alumni Association. The pink letter “A” signifies the students of Gulang-Gulang National High School. The gray letter “A” which was behind the pink letter A symbolizes the former students that became already the alumni of GNHS.
SCHOOL BUILDING
The school building simply indicates the RYT building, one of the first buildings in GNHS and it was placed in the logo to represent the school and its connection to its former students that is why it was positioned inside the smaller “A”.
ILLUMINATING TORCH
The torch was placed both in the A that signifies the student and its illumination was placed in the A that symbolizes the alumni of the alma mater. It means that the torch of knowledge learned during the school days was used by its alumni in college life and in the professional world.
PINK AND GRAY COLORS
Pink and gray were used as the main color of the logo since it is the color if the official uniform of its students.
Article II
NAME
Section 2.1 The official name of the organization shall be the “Gulang-Gulang National High School Alumni Association (GNHS AA)” [the association], an adjunct organization supporting Gulang-Gulang National High School [the school].
Section 2.2 The association is a non-stock and non-profit organization. It may engage in fund-generating activities to finance its projects and activities in pursuit of its
objectives.
Article III
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Section 3.1 The purpose of the Gulang-Gulang National High School Alumni Association
(GNHS AA) [the Association] is to provide an organization to serve and to promote the mutual interests of Gulang-Gulang National High School (the School) and its alumni through and in collaboration other stakeholders.
Section 3.2 The GNHS AA supports the school’s mission and vision by cultivating a
mutually beneficial relationship between the school and the alumni community.
Section 3.3 Organize the members’ collective efforts in assisting their Alma Mater in the
fulfilment of its academic mission as a world-class institution for secondary education.
Section 3.4 Recognize and honor GNHS alumni who achieved distinctions in their
respective fields.
Article IV
VISION
An enabling environment wherein individuals and communities are able to realize their full potential and aspirations towards a just, harmonious society and economic prosperity that respects the integrity of the environment for the benefit of both the present and future generations.
Article V
MISSION
The GNHS-AA is committed to harnessing the creative abilities and potential of its members by initiating projects and initiatives through collaborative partnerships.
To this end, the GNHS AA will foster pride, loyalty, and a life-long connection to GNHS among alumni, students, parents and friends by:
Partnering with the school regarding opportunities to engage and connect with alumni
and to assist with the promotion and coordination of such programs and events;
Encouraging alumni to contribute their time, talent, and financial support to GNHS
AA;
Communicating needs and news, and celebrating the innovative accomplishments of GNHS and its alumni; and
Providing and promoting opportunities for volunteer engagement, professional association and career development, leadership, and fellowship among alumni
Article VI
MEMBERS
Section 6.1 Membership. The membership of the Association consists of Alumni
Members
Section 6.2 Alumni Members. Alumni members of the Association include:
(a) all completers of Junior High School program and all graduates of Senior High School program are automatically members of the Association
(b) A non-graduate of the GNHS who has rendered valuable service to the GNHS and/or the association may be nominated as an honorary member by any regular member in good standing of the Association and may be elected as such by a majority vote of the Board of Trustees.
Section 6.3 FEES
The following shall be the fee/s of the members of the Association:
a. Lifetime membership. Every member, regular or honorary, shall pay a fee of
ONE HUNDRED (P 100.00) PESOS. Members who pay are entitled to life membership.
The Board of Trustees may amend the above fee.
Article VII
RIGHTS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITES OF MEMBERS
Section 7.1 A member in good standing is one who:
a. Pays membership dues and other fees prescribed by the Board of Trustees;
b. Participates in Association activities.
Section 7.2 A member in good standing shall have the following rights:
a. Can vote and can be elected into office;
b. Can request access to official records, documents and papers pertaining to the acts, transactions or decisions of the Association unless otherwise specified;
c. Can use the properties and facilities of the Association according to the rules and regulations agreed upon for this purpose;
d. Can propose amendments and resolutions through the Board of Trustees.
Section 7.3 A member shall have the following duties and responsibilities;
a. To obey and comply with the By-Laws, rules, and regulations that may be promulgated duties and association from time to time;
b. To attend all meetings that may be called by the Board of Trustees;
c. To pay membership dues and other assessments of the association.
ARTICILE VIII
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Section 8.1 The corporate powers of the association shall be exercised, its business
conducted and its property controlled by the Board of Trustees.
Section 8.2 The trustees to be elected must be of legal age and members of the association.
Section 8.3 The trustees shall hold office for two (2) years and until their successors are
duly elected and qualified.
Section 8.4 The Board of Trustees shall:
a. Have the power and function to formulate policies pertaining to the Association.
b. Administer the affairs of the Association in between meetings of the General Assembly.
c. Create or dissolve committees as it deems necessary in the performance of its duties.
d. Oversee the activities of the alumni homecoming committee.
e. Submit to the General Assembly the annual report and financial statement of the Association.
f. Deliberate and act on proposals presented by the different committees.
g. Deliberate and act on issues relevant to the alumni and to the GNHS
community.
Section 8.5 The Board of Trustees must meet quarterly.
Section 8.6 A simple majority of the members of the Board of Trustees shall constitute a quorum. Decisions of the Board shall be considered valid when voted by a simple majority of those present, provided a quorum is in attendance.
Article IX
OFFICERS
Section 9.1 The Association shall have the following officers who shall be elected by the Board of Trustees/members from among themselves: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Public Relations Officer, and Batch Representatives who shall perform the duties and responsibilities of their respective positions. An officer shall be an alumni member of the Association.
Section 9.2 No person shall have the right to vote and be eligible to any of the aforementioned positions unless he is a member of the Association in good standing.
Article X
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE OFFICERS
Section 10.1 The President shall have the following functions and duties:
a. Be the Executive Officer of the Association, and as such shall have active executive management of the operations of the Association subject, however, to the control of the Board of Directors.
b. Have the power to call and preside over all the meetings of the Board of Trustees and the General Assembly.
c. Sign contracts and agreements which the Association enters into.
d. Delegate such powers to any member of the Board of Trustees whenever necessary.
e. Prepare and submit to the Board an annual report of the Association for approval.
Section 10.2 The Vice-President shall have the following functions and duties:
a. Perform the duties of the President in case of the latter’s absence, temporary incapacity, or resignation.
b. Perform such other duties and functions that the President or the Board may assign to him.
Section 10.3 The Secretary shall have the following functions and duties:
a. Make and keep a record of the proceedings of all meeting of the Executive Committee, the Board of Trustees, and the General Assembly.
b. Maintain a membership directory of the Association.
c. Be the custodian of all records of the Association.
d. Assist the Chairman in the preparation of requirements of the regulatory bodies.
e. Perform such other duties and functions as the Chairman or the Board may assign to him/her.
Section 10.5 The Treasurer shall have the following functions and duties:
a. Collect all dues, regular or special, and all donations to the Association and shall disburse funds in accordance with the By-Laws.
b. Prepare and submit an Annual Financial Report to the Board.
c. Perform such other duties and functions as the Chairman or the Board may assign to him/her.
Section 10.6 The Auditor shall have the following functions and duties:
a. Audits the financial records kept by the Treasurer.
b. Conducts an audit of the book of accounts and properties of the Association.
c. Perform such other duties and functions as the Chairman or the Board may assign to him/her.
Section 10.8 The Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) shall have the following functions and duties:
a. Assist in preparing statements and articles on activities and projects of the Association.
b. Perform such other duties and functions as the President or the Board may assign to him/her.
Section 10.9 The Batch Representatives will echo the information from PRO.
Article XI
MEETINGS
Section 11.1 The annual meetings of the members shall be held during the annual GNHS Alumni Homecoming.
Section 11.2 A special meeting, upon the request of at least ten (10) members in good standing, shall be convened to act on priority matters. Notice of the special meeting shall be given to all members at least seven (14) calendar days prior to the meeting.
Section 11.3 Committee meetings shall be called by the respective chairperson whenever deemed necessary.
Section 11.4 Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees/GNHS Officers of the association shall be held quarterly, unless the by-laws provide otherwise.
Article XII
FUNDS
Section 12.1 The funds of the association shall be derived from membership fees, gifts, or donations.
Section 12.2 The fiscal year of the association shall be from January 01 to December 31 of each year
Article XIII
AMENDMENTS
These By-Laws, or any provision thereof, may be amended, repealed or new By-Laws adopted by a majority vote of the Board of Trustees and by a majority vote of the members at any regular or special meeting duly held for the purpose. present in the Annual Meeting of the General Assembly/Alumni Homecoming.
